Work Time - This position includes weekends. There are two shift options available.
7 AM - 4 PM: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday | Thursday and Friday, OFF
7 AM - 6 PM: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday | Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, OFF

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Skilled Desktop Support Specialist to manage and support desktop setups at our DFW location. Responsibilities include configuring and testing workstations, imaging, IP addressing, installing software and equipment, performing unit and integrated testing, and collaborating with project teams. The role also involves maintaining asset inventories and updating technical documentation to ensure accurate records. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensure efficient and compliant desktop operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following):

  1. Participate in the configuration planning for desktops that will be installed within DFW location's including imaging requirements, assigned IP addressing documentation, and confirmation of requirements at each position within the DFW campus
  2. Assist in preparing, testing, and loading of the images for the DFW workstations as decided/defined
  3. Configure and test workstations in accordance with DFW policy/procedures at the defined locations within the DFW campus
  4. Install and test additional software required at each position based upon the role/job function being performed at that location
  5. Install workstations at designated locations and in accordance with specific requirements at each position. Workstation installation may involve the moving of certain equipment from existing stakeholder locations.
  6. Install, connect, test displays as defined (multi monitor arrays)
  7. Install tabletop and under-mount accessories at each position include mouse, keyboard, telephone, radio equipment, KVM equipment, cable management, power strips, etc as required
  8. Unit test and participate in facility wide integrated testing as required.
  9. Coordinate with functional managers on all project teams
  10. Maintain/update asset and equipment inventory and related technical documentation. This will be critical element culminating in "as built”

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or engineering or a related field.
  2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization
  3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, and to maintain harmonious internal and external working relationships.
  4. Ability to be on call via cell phone or other department-defined method.
  5. Ability to pass a medical physical.
  6. Ability to pass a security check.
  7. Possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  8. Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Works in an office and/or airport terminal environment.
  • Uses keyboard devices and computer monitors.
  • Uses reasoning abilities in performing analysis and solving problems.
  • Frequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting minimally 50+ pounds Must be able to use ladders and scissor lifts as required from time to time.
  • Communicates effectively by telephone, in writing and in person.
  • Uses near-visual acuity in reading written documents.
  • Drives to locations on Airport property.
